About Me: A New Journey

After completing nearly 90 credits in English Education, I realized something was missing. The creativity and challenge of fields like marketing, graphic design, and even engineering began to draw my attention.

But what would challenge me intellectually, allow me to express creativity, and also provide a collaborative team to work alongside?

I’m now 40 credits into my new program, and I know for a fact: software engineering is the answer.

A background in literacy has grounded me in essential skills like communication, detail-oriented work, and innovative problem-solving. I have been delighted to translate these skills directly to my program and projects in software engineering.

Since starting at Western Governors University, I’ve gained foundational skills in web development, network security, and early programming concepts. I also recently earned my CompTIA Project+ certification.

Up next, I’ll be diving deeper into front-end development, JavaScript, and UX/UI design. I’m extremely excited to bring together my technical and creative skills in these classes!

In my free time, I’m building up expertise in WordPress and SEO. My goal is to use these skills to help small businesses improve their online presence and brand awareness.
